Crewe United 1 Lisanally Rangers 3

Crewe suffered their first league defeat of the season at the hands of Lisanally from Armagh. Despite bossing much of the play in the first half Crewe did not create any clear cut chances.

Teague went close with a header from a Scott Mulligan cross and the visiting keeper parried over the bar. Against the run of play Lisanally broke and went into the lead with a fine strike that left McCabe in the Crewe goal no chance of stopping.

Half-time: 0-1

The second half produced more goals in a more entertaining affair. Crewe played much better football but still lacked penetration. The home side puched forward and drew level as Pete McCabe bundled the ball into the net from a corner. Minutes later, just as Crewe looked to be in the ascendancy, they failed to clear their lines conceding a free kick on the edge of the area. The visitors went 2-1 up as the free kick was dispatched into the bottom corner of the net.

Another defensive mix up sealed the points for Lisanally in what was in the end a deserved victory. A much improved performance will be needed against derby rivals Lower Maze at Crewe Park this Saturday in another league encounter.
