Crewe got a vital win and crucial three points as they ran out 6-2 winners against Fivemiletown United at Crewe Park on Saturday with Conor McQuillan helping himself to a hat-trick along the way.
In what was a deserved victory Crewe needed the win after last weeks disappointment of losing to Ballymacash Rangers as the battle at the bottom of the table continues. The first half against Fivemiletown was an even affair and it was not surprise when it remained nil each at the half time break with both sides creating few chances.
However the second half could not have been more diffferent. It started six minutes into the half when Conor McCarthy nodded in from a corner. The second followed soon after when McQuillan grabbed his first after beating the offside trap and tucked his chance away. McQuillan was again on hand shortly after with his second and further goals from Tohill and McCrory made the points safe and McQuillan rounded off a fine display by adding the sixth and his third of the afternoon.
This Saturday see’s another crunch game as Crewe travel to Seapatrick to play the side just below the Glenavy men.
Meanwhile the Reserves had yet another game cancelled due to the weather as the games begin to pile up for them. This weekend the travel to play Hill Street in the O’Hara Cup.
