Crewe had a mixed weekend ofr results as the Firsts suffered a 2-1 loss to bottom of the table Ballymacash at Wallace Park. The Reserves won an entertaining 5-4 game at Crewe Park which keeps their promotion hopes still alive this season.
The First team struggled to cope with the poor pitch at Wallace Park as they lost a vital battle in their bid to survive the drop from the Mid Ulster League top division. Despite dominating much of the game Crewe failed to convert their pressure into goals and faced an uphill struggle after two first half break away goals by Ballymacash.
An own goal with twenty minutes to go raised hopes of salvaging something from the game but it was not to be and now pressure to put points on the league table mounts.
The Reserves meanwhile scored another victory at home to Markethill Swifts in a 9 goal thriller. Things are very tight at the top of Reserve Division 2 and if Crewe can keep winning a second successive promotion is not out of the question this season.
