Crewe Reserves put themselves right back in the hunt for promotion by beating Oxford 1-0 at Knockrammer Park on Wednesday night with the solitary goal coming from Chinta Chisambo. The Firsts lost 3-1 to Dollingstown on Tuesday night.
The Reserves put themselves in with a real chance of promotion with the inform Chinta ‘Mario Puza’ Chisambo continuing his recent superb goalscoring form scoring the winner in a tight game. Chinta has now scored four goals in three games as the promotion push continues.
It meant that Oxford lost their long held position at the top of the table as Lower Maze won to go clear at the top. It will be tight all the way to the end of the season as the three clubs slog it out at the top. Lower Maze look favourites to win the title, and Crewe need to keep winning to keep themsleves in with a chance. It is possible however given the recent good form and Oxford still must travel to Crewe Park.
The Firsts meanwhile turned in another disappointing display at Planters Park against Dollingstown. The performance will have to improve in the last two remaining league games if any points areto be obtained against two very good sides in Omagh and Tandragee Rovers.
