Rav The Man For Crewe

Crewe’s answer to Ravanelli, Aidso McCrory, scored an absolute gem of a goal to secure another 3 vital points for Crewe Reserves in their promotion tilt.

Crewe travelled to Markethill Reserves and came away with all 3 points after a battling encounter at Ashgrove Park. Crewe went one down shortly after half time as they looked in danger of bringing to an end their recent superb winning run.

The Glenavy men fought back however and Tucker Heaney scored his second goal in as many games to bring Crewe right back into the game. Then with 7 minutes left the Crewe captain, Aidso ‘Ravanelli’ McCrory, stepped up to unleash a fierce drive into the roof of the net from 25 yards.

It was a goal good enough to win any game and so it was that the three points were sealed to keep up the pressure on Oxford who are now just one point ahead but with a game in hand. The Lurgan men however have to travel to Crewe in the coming weeks and it will be an epic encounter and a tense run in with 4 games to go in the promotion race.
