Crewe turned the heat up on Oxford United in the race for promotion to Reserve Division 1 with a hard fought 1-0 victory at Crewe Park, making it 8 wins on the bounce for the Glenavy men.
A single goal from Tommy Kempson was enough to earn Crewe all three points in the top of the table clash. It now means that if Crewe win next Wednesday against Derryhirk, Oxford must win all three remaining games in order to gain the last promotion spot.
It has been a great run from the Reserves, losing only 2 league games since September last year. Their efforts certainly deserve some reward and hopefully that will be promotion. Congratulations to Lower Maze who won the league title tonight to secure promotion to Reserve Division 1.
