This weekend (6th Aug.) Crewe United welcome Warrington Town FC for the Annual Peace Cup. The semi professional side arrive in Northern Ireland seeking to retain the trophy. It promises to be another great weekend as acquaintances are renewed once more.
It will as always be a tough task for the Glenavy men against the semi pro outfit but manager Thomas McKenna arguably has the strongest squad yet for a Peace Cup game. The squad was badly depleted last year due to many players being unavailable for the trip over to Warrington due to the marriage of assistant manager Andy Rushton.
However Crewe know they will have to perform to their best and Warrington to have a bad day at the office if the Peace Cup is to be kept in the Crewe Trophy cabinet come Saturday night.
Kick off is 7pm and all committee, players and officials are urged to attend to ensure the best possible reception for our Warrington guests. All proceeds made on the night will go to the Warrington Peace Centre.
