Crewe United are all set again to bring to life the FARE weekends commencing on the 15th October 2011. All those interested in participating in what always are some great event please contact Crewe through the website email address or Thomas on 07751286473.
The aims and objectives of this project is to bring together ethnic minorities (Polish and Portuguese) that would not normally have any means of access of lines of communication with the local population. This event will help promote understanding, tolerance and closer links within the different communities and establish a communality which is currently not present or not recognised within the communities. It is very important as the minority communities within Northern Ireland grow that these events can be conducted.
“Ball For All” is a 7-a-side Mens & Ladies, Boys & Girls community soccer event. It will be run over the 15th & 16th October and the 22nd and 23rd October and is fun packed with skill competitions, toe-tap-penalty shot outs, networking opportunities and access to local service information e.g. health promotion & education, Fire Service. Final celebration presentation with the Final of The Competition, guest speakers, music, arts & crafts and more. There will also be full sided games between Crewe United, Union Lusa and Maxx FC.
The event is open to everyone however we have teamed up with fellow Mid Ulster League participants, Union Lusa (Portugese) and Maxx FC (Polish) as partners to support the event given their different cultural and ethnical backgrounds.
The kids involved will be asked to design a Anti Racism banners and posters which will be used in the coming year to break down the problems of racisim within football and society in general in Northern Ireland.
