Crewe Prepare For Semi

It a feast of football this week at Crewe as the First team take on Dollingstown in the Premier Cup Semi Final and the Reserves host the unbeaten Derryhirk.

The first team will be looking to bounce back from two defeats in a row, but welcome back a host of players from injury including Sid McCrory, Marty McManus, Tommy Kempson and of course Loic Bouchard continues towards match fitness with his thrid full game for the club.

A semi final has been a long time coming, 8 years was the last time Crewe graced this latter stage and that was in the NI Intermediate League when they lost on penalties to eventual winners UUC. Crewe have had a good start to the season depsite the recent defeats but travelling to Dollingstown is always a difficult task for any side.

However Crewe go in a positive mood with the squad stronger than last year and renewed vigour as new manager Gary Flaherty begins to stamp his mark on the Glenavy side.

The Reserves too have a difficult game at home to Derryhirk. However with new signing Morgan Denny banging in two goals last week and Andrew Rushton, Willy Devine and Thomas McKenna all returning to the squad the Reserves will certainly fancy their chances of getting a positive result.
